Cloud 9 Gloves (Fingerless mitts)

These are fantastic quick and easy side thumb opening wrist warmers.

http://www.livejournal.com/users/mnsfibers/72210.html

I made one pair right with the pattern. The second set I did, I made several changes to the pattern.

  • First I casted on 10/15/10 (35sts) instead of 12/15/12 (39sts)
  • Second I put a 1x1 (2row) rib at the top and bottom of the glove.
  • Third I only did one set of cables at the top before doing the thumb opening. For my short fingers.
  • Forth I did 2 decreases after resuming in the round (one at each cable row). After that I then did 3 Increases (one at each cable row after the decrease cable rows). For my fat arms. The decreases I did at K2tog and the Increases I did M1. I tried the K1FB but I did not like the look on the knit area.

I also put together a check off sheet for this glove. I do this so I don't get lost on which row I am on. I usually get interupted when I am knitting and I find that this is helpful. It is a PDF so you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the file.

Buttonhole Bag Felted

Mason-Dixon Knitting: January 2005 Archives Buttonhole Bag Pattern

This is a very simple felted purse using 2 strands held together while knitting. It only has a few rows to knit. You can alter this one all different ways.

Here is my version of the bag.
